ART // TECH // PLAY LIVE: The role of the audience in interactive performance02 July to 02 July 2026

As technology and audience interaction increasingly integrate into live performance, crucial questions emerge: How is the role of the audience changing? How should artists adapt their creative processes to incorporate this? What does this mean for audiences?  ?

Join us for our next ART // TECH // PLAY LIVE: The role of the audience in interactive performance at Norwich Theatre Stage Two, on 02 July, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm, for a deep dive into this topic.

Through dynamic presentations and demos, we will explore various perspectives on how artists are developing truly interactive and immersive work—work that treats the audience and the quality of their engagement as equally vital.

Our keynote speaker is Rachel Briscoe, CEO-lead artist for award-winning digital story studio Fast Familiar. Fast Familiar make audience-centric experiences which take the form of immersive theatre, audio walks, games, research tools and the occasional mini golf course.

We’ll also hear from Frozen Light — creators of ground-breaking sensory theatre for adult audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities — plus an interactive demo from Clockwork Dog — the studio behind the show control technology COGS, which powers experiences like The Traitors Live Experience (Immersive Everywhere), Lander 23 (Punchdrunk) and One Piece: Quest for the Devil Fruit (Netflix House).

With time to connect over refreshments afterwards.
