Thanks to the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, we now have a wonderful ‘meanwhile’ space in which to spread out our kit and experiment. You’ll see from the images below how we’ve been playing in the space. Read on to find out more about how you can hire the White Barn.
The White Barn is situated in the courtyard of the historic St. George’s Guildhall, Britain’s oldest working theatre and is ideally located just a few minutes from the main high street in King’s Lynn. Comprising two adjoining spaces, The White Barn is rough space but offers an expansive, versatile venue, suitable for workshops, team meetings, training sessions, artist R&D days and many other creative possibilities.
The first space is a larger warehouse-like space. It has high ceilings, concrete floors and large brick/wood painted white walls. High windows and large sliding barn doors, allow control over the amount of natural light, with the option of lighting by flood light. The space is ideal for developing experimental audio-visual works, exploring large scale projection or testing performative pieces.
Within the larger building is a purpose-built workshop/meeting space, measuring 9.5m by 5.9m The space is fully blackoutable, making it ideal for projections, workshops, presentations or testing works involving lights/visuals. There are various ways the space can be configured depending on the activity.
Equipment: The basic equipment includes tables and foldable chairs, a large mobile two sided white board (180 x 120 cms) and a 65″ LED tv on a mobile stand. We also have equipment available to hire including projectors, large screens (3m x 2m), and a whole lot more! Tell us what you need and we’ll see how we can help!
